Distinguishing features

A small, delicate, 10-armed crinoid with numerous cirri and P1 the longest pinnule. Concealed under rubble.

No species of Antedon is currently represented from the northern GBR in museum collections, although two generally temperate species, Antedon loveni and Antedon incommoda, are known from the southern end of the GBR (Atlas of Living Australia accessed 28 Apr 2020). The Lizard Island specimens do not have a discoidal centrodorsal so they are not A. incommoda. Not enough detail is visible in the photos to suggest A. loveni.
