Distinguishing features

Silver Biddies are silver fish with laterally compressed bodies. The head profile has a distinctive concavity on the lower edge. The jaw projects downward to feed on small animals buried in the sediment.

Six species in the genus Gerres have been recorded from the Lizard Island area but we don't yet know which one this is.
