Distinguishing features

Body colour variable, grey to white (pale phase) or whitish with a tan blotch or broad stripe on sides. Slanted lines below lateral line usually noticeable. Always a blue band between eyes, yellow tail with bluish margin, long filament extending from upper tail lobe in adults.
