Local abundance

  • Lizard Island, Queensland, Australia: The Buff-banded Rail has been recorded only once at Lizard Island, most recently in March 1977 (Atlas of Living Australia, accessed 8 April 2012). The species has been recorded more recently at nearby Eagle Island, Nymph Island, and the Turtle Group.
