Distinguishing features

Body very soft and pliable with large, well-spaced papillae dorsally. Thick, translucent Cuvierian tubules are readily ejected when disturbed. Dorsally, colour is brown/grey with indistict darker bands. Papillae have a white sub-terminal ring and a red/brown tip from which protrudes a tube foot. Ventral surface is pale, relatively flat, and covered with numerous short tube feet. Found under rubble in shallow water.
