Distinguishing features

This is the common garfish or halfbeak in shallow water close to Lizard Island Research Station. It has a very short upper jaw, very elongate lower jaw and a forked tail with the lower lobe larger than the upper. The name is tentative because the id has not been confirmed by an expert.
