Blackstriped Cardinalfish (species: Ostorhinchus nigrofasciatus)
was often misidentifed as Ostorhinchus aroubiensis (Randall, 2001). The single record of Ostorhinchus aroubiensis from Lizard Island (by Lassig, 1983, as Apogon aroubiensis) was likely one such misidentification.
