Colours

    

Distinguishing features

Colonies are thin plates in whorls or tiers or vases. Corallites are in rectangular pockets between radiating ridges perpendicular to colony edge. Corallite structure as shown in close-up is distinctive.

  • From 1 cm to 150 cm (Colony diameter often more than 1 metre (Veron, 2000))
