Local abundance

  • Lizard Island: Rarely seen except at very wide intervals when large numbers drift in and stay for a short time. One such swarm occurred on 15 Feb 2014 for one day only, disappeared for a few days, then returned for more than a week. The last memorable swarm before that was in the 1990s.
