Distinguishing features

Dark brown to black or with cream-green mottling. Darker forms with white spots or, when small, with white marks on the side. Orange-red line between the last two segments on the back in both males and females, and longitudinal corrugations on the last segment before the tail.

Comments

Roy Caldwell provided LIRS with a list of stomatopods he collected at Lizard Island between 1986 and 1997. It includes Haptosquilla glyptocercus with the note: "rubble, beach rock, 0 - 2 m".
