Distinguishing features

Fully exposed, 35 to 40 arms, numerous long cirri with more than 50 segments on a very large centrodorsal plate, not a comatulid.

The only other species in the Lizard Island area with such long cirri is Pontiometra andersoni, which has more arms and is very dark all over.

Steene (2014, volume 1, page 469) provides a photo of a similar individual.
