Animalia:
Blacktail Grubfish (species: Parapercis queenslandica)
is very similar. Distributions of the two species do not overlap according to Irimura and Yoshin (2007, who described both species), with P. queenslandica on the GBR and P. pacifica to the north and Timor Sea. ALA has Lizard Island area specimens identified as P. pacifica by Graham Edgar so giving it the benefit of the doubt here.
