Colours

A medium sized sea star with rounded bumps on the upper surface and a bright colour pattern comprising white/cream, orange and purple.

Animalia: species: Gomophia watsoni
has similar colouration and size but tubercles on the upper surface are pointed rather than rounded.
Animalia: species: Gomophia gomophia
has a very similar appearance but it not found on the Great Barrier Reef (Marsh and Fromont, 2020).
