Distinguishing features

Stichopus herrmanni is a large, solid, yellow/brown holothurian with spaced dark spots. Its common name in the trepang trade is Curry Fish.

Distribution and habitat preferences

This species is found on sand close to reefs. It can be quite common in some locations and is often found near Holothuria (Microthele) fuscopunctata.
