Distinguishing features

A small white hermit crab with orange tips on the walking legs and black eyes with white spots. As in all Calcinus species, the left clawed leg is much larger than the right.

Malay et al (2018) note that live colouration is invaluabe in species identification of Calcinus.

Size

  • Up to 2 cm (Carapace length for genus according to Jones and Morgan, 1994)
