Photo of Animalia: Ocellate Glider Goby (species: Valenciennea longipinnis) (Lizard Island Field Guide)

A group of what appears to be Valenciennea longipinnis near the entrance to their shared burrow close to shore at Casuarina Beach, Lizard Island. The largest individual has a dark spot on the first dorsal fin and most individuals have yellowish lips, both features of Valenciennea muralis. However, that species does not have spots on the sides. A dartfish, Ptereleotris microlepis, hovers above.
