Species Goniobranchus sp. 4

Distinguishing features

Red and white reticulate pattern on back with a yellow margin and often a white submarginal band. Many small bumps on mantle. Foot is white with a yellow border, at least posteriorly. Inner surface of gills is white. Rhinophores white basally with abrupt transition to darker colour.

This is one of the Goniobranchus tinctorius group. That species is now thought to be restricted to the Red Sea but several very similar "species" occur in different localities (Gosliner et al, 2018). This group clearly needs revision.
