Distinguishing features

Plants usually erect up to 70 cm high but may be prostrate; stem narrow and branching with fine hairs; leaves trifoliate with narrow, pointed leaflets that are glabrous (not hairy) or nearly so; yellow and orange flowers are bourne on hairy spikes; pods are hairy and contain a single, hooked seed (Feedipedia accessed 25 May 2019).
