Distinguishing features

A small pink/orange goby with six red stripes on head and anterior body.

This name was considered a synonym of Trimma striatum but molecular evidence shows they are separate and there are slight morphological differences (Winterbottom and Hoese, 2015). "True" Trimma striatum is known from NW Australia, Indonesia, Phillipines and PNG but not the GBR. Records of Trimma striatum on the GBR are almost certainly referable to Trimma capostriatum.
