Local abundance

  • Lizard Island: The specimen photographed here appears to be the first record from the Lizard Island area (Jan 2015). The off-reef habitat is rarely visited so the species may be more common in the area than it seems. Later in 2015 (Nov), a larger specimen was seen in shallower water.
