Photo of Animalia: species: Alveopora sp.

Polyps of Alveopora sp. on the reef flat south of Lizard Head, Lizard Island. Twelve tentacles per polyp is diagnostic for Alveopora. In this species, the tentacles are shaggy, and tapering.
