Side view of Mimachlamys lentiginosa about 3 cm wide found on underside of rubble slab at base of reef slope, Pidgin Point, Lizard Island. White sponge obsures the beak in this photo. Dr Richard Willan (NT Museum) notes that the beak is characteristically blood-red or dark purplish or black in this species.
