Photo of Animalia: species: Millepora sp 1

Millepora sp 1 at Big Vicki's Reef, Lizard Island, in Mar 2002. This colony is bleached as were many hard corals during the first ever mass bleaching event on the Great Barrier Reef.

This colony resembles a photo of Millepora platyphylla from the Marshall Islands published by Zoe Richards in The Conversation (30 May 2013; Australian endangered species: Fire corals).
