Alex had infrared camera traps placed at Bird Island at some times in the period 29 March to 23 April 2023. It recorded a croc several times at night and once it appeared to snatch a bird from a low branch. Alex also saw the croc several times in this period on the beach at Bird Is during the day, estimates length at a bit more than 2 m.
