Distinguishing features

Highly ruffled, pointed pseudotentacles, dark grey with a wide white submarginal band and a very thin orange rim.

If the Lizard Island records are correctly identified as Pseudobiceros sharroni, they appear to be new records for Australia. The species was described from Palau and is not listed in Atlas of Living Australia (accessed 9 Apr 2022).

Part of original description: "Background opaque green-grey (573U), lighter medially and marginally, extremely narrow orange (150U) rim (Figs. 9 A, 13 B). Pseudotentacles with orange tips. Ventrally light green with a wide, dark grey band near the margin, then lighter green and narrow orange rim. Pseudotentacles pointed and ear-like (Fig. 9 A). Size range: 50 x 25 mm (mature) to 80 x 35 mm (mature)." (Newman and Cannon, 1997).
