Jo Browne made a field id of this species at Lizard Island during the CReefs trips around 2010 (Ref: Anne Hoggett's memory!). Differs from O. malayensis in that gonads only occupy the outer half of the radial canals rather than almost the whole length (Toshino et al, 2019).
